The sun is back! We all want to take advantage of its rays and its heat! What better than a picnic by the sea, a river or in the middle of the countryside! Depending on the products we decide to take in our basket, the organisation and preparation can be very different. Today we are going to focus on two important details if you decide to take wine with you, and want to enjoy it like you do at home: keep the wine at the ideal temperature and keep your glass upright, even when the ground is sometimes unstable at the beach or in the country.
Keep your wine at the optimum temperature!
One of the first problems we encounter during a picnic outing is keeping the drinks cool. The classic answer is to take a cool box with blocks of ice, or cooling sleeves. Today we are going to talk about some alternatives that allow you to give a slightly more “chic” feel to your picnics!
First of all, the Icemax cooler: its unique technology allows you to cool your bottle in less than 15 min and then to keep it cool for more than 2 hours. The little extra with this concept is that you can choose the bottle format (Champagne, wine, beer, can . . .) when you order the product.
For cooling and maintaining temperature, there is also the carafe with a cooling base. The base of the carafe is placed in the freezer 6h before use and it guarantees that your wine will be kept at the optimum temperature for 3h.
These tricks mean that you won’t need to drink warm wine during your picnic and you will enjoy the occasion even more.
Keep your glass upright under all circumstances!
Taste your wine from a plastic cup or a water glass? Sacrilege! Who has not already tried the experience of organising an aperitif or a picnic among friends, or for a family or romantic get-together, and taken stemmed glassware to the beach or the countryside? As we quickly discover, it is not easy to keep your wine glass upright on moving or unstable ground (not to mention the wind)!
The “Beach Glass” is an invention that can put an end to your troubles (or even your ordeal!). It is a wine glass without a base. The bottom is in the form of a point; you just need to stick it in the grass or the sand to keep it upright without effort. They have the form of classic and elegant wine glasses, just as if you were sitting round the table at home! They are available here.
Otherwise, for the more creative among you, we have a DIY glass-holder suggestion, which may meet your needs! You will find it at the end of the article: DIY – The picnic basket.
There only remains the most important thing: make sure that you take advantage of your picnic to relax and spend a good time with your family or friends!
